Profile	‘Wake Our Lake’ (WOL), a non-profit organization was started by Saravanan, an engineer in Bangalore, who was deeply disheartened to see his once lush and green childhood village dry out and turn barren without even drinking water. Motivated to do something about it, he teamed up with Arul Sekhar, an IIT engineer and activist, and Dr P. Velmurugan an ISRO soil scientist and few other like minded nature enthusiasts to form 'Wake Our Lake'. Together the team is leading the villagers to take ownership and revive dried up lakes in their areas, raise water levels in the groundwater basin, and plant trees to combat the devastating effects of climate change.
